Milestone weekend....

Well, we had a big milestone weekend. On Friday Ava pushed her self up from the floor to the sitting position. I think it helps that she is getting up on her hands and knees and is trying to crawl that way. Then on Saturday she pulled her self up from the floor to her knees and then to standing. Today, when she was eating dinner she was really fussy and wouldn't eat. I thought that maybe we ended up developing an ear infection from the fluid in her ears that she has had since her last weight check ( March 13th), but she didn't have a temp. So, we gave her some Tylenol and it helped settle her down, BUT on our way home from my mom's she got really fussy in the car (VERY unusual), Kyle was trying to find her paci but couldn't so he stuck his finger in her mouth to try to soothe her and he felt something sharp on her bottom gum. So, when we go home, we pinned Ava down and sure enough there was a tooth poking through her bottom gum!!!! Then later in the bathtub, Ava pulled her self up and was standing in the tub as you can see from the following picture.......

Our little baby is growing up so fast. I can't believe that she is going to be 8 months old on Friday!! Wow, has time flown, but it has been a GREAT ride so far...........

Happy Easter

We hope that everyone had a great Easter. I thought it was going to be super cold today because we got about 4-5" of snow on Friday, but it actually turned out to be a kind of warm sunny day. We started the day off by going to church with my family. Ava did great. She wasn't too loud but it also helped that she fell asleep halfway through. Then we headed off to Grandma Burke's house for an Easter egg hunt and lunch. Ava found her share off eggs and received $5 from the Easter bunny. Then we ended the festivities with dinner at my mom's, where the Easter bunny brought her books and teething toys.

Ava just wants to wish everyone a safe and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

I can see, I can see...outside that is...........

Since it was warm out today, I decided to shut of the furnance and open the doors to let some sunshine in. I was out in the kitchen unloading the dishwasher and I heard some pounding on the door, I go to look to see who it is and it's Ava pounding on the door. So, I grabbed the camera and ran to the front door and had to take some pictures.

We can't wait for it to be nice out every morning so we can start walking outside again!!!!

Big Helper

We got a new tv stand Wednesday night. So, Kyle was trying to put it together and Ava thought that he needed help. So, she crawled over to see what she could do. She looked at the directions and handed daddy his screwdriver. She got mad at me when I picked her up and moved her back over by her toys. It was cute!!!!

Ava was laying on Kyle's chest the other day and decided she wanted to give daddy hugs and kisses.

Weight Check

Ava went for her weight check today with Jena. She weighed in at 17# 2oz., 27" long and has a head circumference of 17". She is now in the 50 percentile for everything. Her height/weight chart was actually kind of neat because she did a vertical jump on it. Jena and Dr. Garner are both pleased with her weight gain. So, we go back at the end of April for her 9 month check up!!!

7 months old.....

Ava turned 7 months old on February 28th. Wow, has time flown. She is busy crawling around and trying to pull her self up on things. We go back to the doctor's on March 14th for a weight check, to make sure she is gaining weight like she is suppose.

Wombleland Onesies

The onesies that Ava is wearing were made by some of my daycare kids from Wombleland Daycare before it closed in March of last year. I was a member of that daycare for 27 years.

2nd swimming lesson

For Ava's 2nd swimming lesson, Kyle got in the water with her. We decided to switch every week so she would get use to being in the water with both of us.

I'm going to get you ball......almost under.......
I've been dunked.....not so bad (the first time she came up Ava cried, the second time wasn't as bad....this week I dunked her about 5-6 times and she never once cried)
I'm getting better at this....
